Cheese has always played an important part in the diet of the British public. There are so many iconic British cheeses, with stories to tell about their development and popularity through the centuries.
The tasting session will be led by Patricia Michelson, cheese expert and owner of La Fromagerie, who is passionate about cheese, especially farmhouse cheese. Stylish and unconventional, La Fromagerie is recognised as being one of the best cheese shops in England with two locations in London.
The tutored tasting session will cover the history of British cheese, focusing on cheeses from the 18th century, as we explore the terroir, science and European influence that have played their parts in shaping traditional British cheese-making as we know it today.
This will be followed by tasting of British cheese, some of which might even have graced the plates of monarchs and servants alike at Kensington Palace.
This event includes entry to Kensington Palace. |
