| Event Name: | Company Visit to TWI |
| Description: | TWI is one of the world's foremost independent research and technology organisations. With headquarters at Granta Park near Cambridge since 1946, TWI provides industry with engineering solutions in structures incorporating joining and associated technologies (surfacing, coating, cutting, etc.) through information and technology transfer; consultancy and project support; contract R&D; and training, qualification and personal membership. Joining of materials (welding of metals, bonding of plastics, etc) is vital to almost all manufacturing sectors and TWI is the only single source of expertise in every aspect of joining technology for engineering materials. TWI has made many fundamental advances in joining technology helping companies to improve reliability, reduce costs and reduce environmental impact.
The visit will open with registration and a light buffet followed at 6pm by a brief overview presentation by Graham Wylde, Associate Director. Following the presentation there will be an opportunity to tour the TWI’s research facilities showing many examples of their work. The event will close with a glass of wine and networking session. |
