| Description: | All around us, old paradigms of leadership and systems are falling prey to a dangerous invisible hand, and our ecosystem itself is in danger of going down with them. In our current world we have many different forms of leadership - some democratic, some autocratic and some tyrannical. Ethical leadership is something quite new. Our world needs ethical leadershi - leadership that encourages self-awareness, compassion and the wise use of power and influence.
This talk aims to address some key questions for the 21st century. How can we find, encourage and develop the right people to step into positions of responsibility? And how can they maintain their integrity once they get there? How can we all be personal leaders? How can we use power more wisely and compassionately in all the different areas of our lives?.
This talk will draw on the myths and wisdom of William Shakespeare, as well as insights from archetypal psychology and new thinking from evolutionary philosophy. It will explore the derailing tendencies innate in the inheritance of power, and outline the positive potential for true stewardship that waits for those willing to do the work required to serve a greater good. |
