| Event Name: | Film Screening: Uspomene 677 |
| Description: | Nominated for best microbudget feature at Raindance Film Festival 2011, Uspomene 677 confronts the issues facing those living in contemporary Bosnia.
'Uspomene' - 'reminisces'. 677 concentration camps, rape camps and prisons were set up in Bosnia during the war in the early 1990s. The horrific ordeals the prisoners suffered are impossible to forget.
This documentary analyses the future of Bosnia and the effects of the war through the eyes of three survivors and three teenagers, and how the communities made up of Bosnians, Serbs, Croats and Muslims can live peacefully together.
Uspomene 677 is a story of our time. But the time to tell this story is short. Today, in a Bosnia fighting for EU membership yet threatened by possible return to war, the new generations, often in contrast with their parents, are desperate to find a way to live together for a different, peaceful tomorrow. Will they succeed?
Director Mirko Pincelli began his career photographing in the Balkans. Producer Enrico Tessarin works in film and television. Together this is their first documentary.
A short Q&A with Mirko and Enrico will take place after the screening.
