| Description: | The London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) attracts 350 of the world’s best science students aged 17-21yrs old, from 50 countries around the world every summer.
LIYSF is a two week residential event held at Imperial College London, with lectures and demonstrations from leading scientists, visits to industrial sites, research centres, scientific institutions and organisations, including world class laboratories and universities. At a time when the sciences are of the utmost importance to all the nations around the world, the UK Prime Minister is endorsing the Forum to stimulate the attendance of young scientists the world over to come together to learn, exchange views, opinions and share knowledge at this exciting and dynamic event.
LIYSF 2012 will explore the future developments in the sciences with leading scientists, dignitaries and industry pioneers give lectures throughout the event. The theme this year will be based on Earth Science: The Human Planet, but the forum will cover all areas of science also. Key elements of our programme include opportunities to visit industrial sites, research centres, scientific institutions and organisations, including world class research institutions and laboratories.
Many students attend as the international prize winners or the top students from their school from across the world, including the top prize winners from the European Union Contest for Young Scientists and the Gold Crest award winners at the Big Bang Fair. .
The participation fee for the 14 day programme, covers all accommodation, meals, full programme costs, scientific visits and free travel to programmed events in central London.
