| Event Name: | Lucinda Childs Dance Company |
| Description: | A seminal collaboration between choreographer Lucinda Childs, composer Philip Glass and visual artist Sol LeWitt, which emerged from New York during one of the city’s most vibrant artistic periods.
In this rarely seen signature piece, three dances are performed live, set to a projection of LeWitt’s black-and-white film showing selected passages of the abstract choreography. Through shifts in camera angle and changes of scale our point of view is ingeniously manipulated as the live and filmed dancers seamlessly interact, creating a mesmerising visual tapestry.
Remounted by a new company of dancers under Child’s direction, this 1979 classic now features a complete restoration of LeWitt’s film and Glass’ original, minimalist score. |
