| Event Name: | Mechanisms and Mars |
| Description: | Space mechanisms are an integral part of any satellite. Whether they drive the rotation of the Solar Array for 15+ years, or function for just seconds as a Hold Down Release for a robotic arm or stowed antenna, they require 100% reliability to ensure a successful mission. This presentation will introduce the world of space mechanisms, from COTS to bespoke designs, with a focus on some of the more unusual and exciting that are required to assist in science and exploration missions. Special attention will be made to those that work together to make up the ExoMars Rover Vehicle, essential to complete the Martian Experiments, which will rely on robotics until Humans are given the opportunity.
