| Description: | Working with Emily Harris, you will be given a brief to create a sense of place within this tiny doll's house of a palace, which rings with the joys and sorrows of past royal lives.
Kew Palace was home to George III, Queen Charlotte and their 15 children, who enjoyed a happy domestic routine there. However, in later years, the atmosphere darkened as family rivalries became more intense and relationships soured. Following a short introduction, you will work in groups and individually to create detailed and emotive interiors of the palace that aim to tell its story.
Emily will instruct you on techniques for achieving a well-exposed interior, using your own digital SLR camera. Within the lower floors, you will experience a riot of colour in authentically re-created Georgian rooms, before wandering through the eerie rooms of the upper floor, left untouched for centuries. Emily will assist you through the use of narrative, props and montage.
This workshop includes light refreshments and entry to Kew Palace. |
