| Event Name: | Practical Astronomy for Beginners |
| Description: | This course is intended for people who are interested in taking up astronomy as a hobby but don’t know where to start. It covers everything from selecting and using telescopes to planning your observing activity and finding your way around the night sky. This short course is an excellent introduction to the hobby, with opportunities for viewing at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, if visibility is good. This course is repeated twice throughout the year.
