| Description: | Christies forthcoming novel is set against the backdrop of the Nigerian oil industry. This session will focus on some of the challenges encountered when creating a fictional narrative from a contemporary political issue. She will also read from her novel and offer advice on finding a literary agent.
Christie Watson won the Malcolm Bradbury Bursary for her MA in Creative Writing at UEA. Her short fiction has appeared in many journals, including Wasafiri. Her first novel Tiny Sunbirds, Far Away will be published January 2011. |
