| Description: | Rigidity and flexibility are the heart of the behaviour of designed and natural structures, machines and materials. Combining theories of symmetry and rigidity gives insights in all these fields. Periodic and repetitive structures give new challenges, where open mathematical questions have practical implications for engineers, materials and scientists and chemists; multidisciplinary combination of diverse approaches shows the way forward.
