| Event Name: | Sarah-s Key (15) |
| Description: | This gripping, poignant, intensely moving film is an adaptation of Tatiana de Rosnay’s novel looking at the horrors of the Holocaust. It alternates between the present day and the dark days of Paris 1942 during the time of the ‘Round Up’.
Kirsten gives a superb performance as Julia Armond, a journalist living in Paris with her daughter and husband who wants to write about the detainment, highlighting the moment of shame in French history. Then we are taken back to 1942 Paris where we see the story of Sarah, a ten year old Jewish girl living with her family and her brother who are arrested by the French authorities and then sent to Nazi prison camps.
During Julia’s research for her story she discovers a secret behind the apartment her family are about to move into owned by her husband’s family for years. It used to be occupied by a Jewish family - Sarah’s. Julia believes that Sarah was not killed in the concentration camps and is determined to find out what happened to her.
