Whose Mind is it Anyway?: Resisting Control: Dissent, Protest and Organised Belligerence

Event Name:Whose Mind is it Anyway?: Resisting Control: Dissent, Protest and Organised Belligerence
Description:Britain has a long history of dissent and protest and has long been a place of refuge for the world's rebels and revolutionaries. In recent years, a growing disenchantment with mainstream politics and the economic crisis has seen the rise of numerous single issue protest movements and social unrest. Yet more laws are enacted which are compromising the right to protest. This discussion explores the history of anarchism and asks can we still resist the establishment and if so, how?

Dan Hind (author), Bibi van der Zee (journalist and author), Alex Butterworth (historian and author) and Ted Vallance (Roehampton University) discuss these issues with Neil Denny (Little Atoms).
