| Event Name: | Wuthering Heights |
| Description: | Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontes only novel, is now considered a classic of English literature and is one of the greatest romantic stories ever written. It has now been adapted for the stage by award-winning playwright April de Angelis.
It is the story of the wildly passionate but doomed love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Their unresolved passion eventually destroys them both and after Catherines death a tormented Heathcliff embarks on a ruthless vendetta against those who had prevented them from being together.
Set in the wilds of Yorkshire this fierce vision of an extraordinary passion in which heaven and hell, nature and society, dynamic and passive forces clash, has a unique and timeless appeal.
Wuthering Heights is produced by Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Touring Consortium who have together toured some of the most successful productions in the last ten years, including Of Mice and Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, and most recently She Stoops to Conquer with Colin Baker and Liza Goddard. |
